This wall-hung sculpture features 12 stylized heads turned and carved from various hardwoods. The artist, Craig Nutt, says he was inspired by the restrained work of Dada artist Sophie Taueber-Arp and the turned wood marionettes she made for a production of Ubu Roi. For this work, he decided to limit his selection of tools and limit himself to simple chisel, gouge and saw cuts to create the expressive faces. The position of each face can be adjusted, creating interactions between the faces.
